Puppy love: yellow polka dots + red accents

I'd like you to meet my special friend, Conan! Isn't he adorable? We coincidentally matched when my friend brought him over for a visit! While he is sporting his cool Spiderman outfit, I am donning my yellow polka dot dress, with red accent pieces on both of us.

Country Chic: A beautiful life

This outfit has a country feel to me, maybe it's the booties or the field of flowers that I was in. Of course I couldn't resist doing some skirt spinning!

Today marks my two month anniversary of my blog! I appreciate all of the kind words through the comments so far! I usually don’t share personal stories in my posts, but I want to share one with you today to give a better glimpse behind my inspirations for starting this blog. I mentioned early on that one inspiration for starting my blog was to have a lovely escape from my hectic work life. Another inspiration and one thing about me that plays a large role in shaping who I am today is that I’m a cancer survivor.

I was diagnosed with a stage 4 cancer and completed treatment just less than two years ago…all while as a twenty-something year old! I remember when all I could do was lay in bed, I would pass the days by looking at fashion blogs--a beautiful escape from the reality that I was in. I decided early on in my course that regardless of what the future held, I would just live life like I wanted to. I am so grateful for my recovery. I try to seize each day, pursuing things that I love, such as fashion =) Having gone through this experience, I gained inner strength and embraced my inner beauty. Now with my hair growing out (I have yet to get my first haircut!)  and physical strength back, I have re-embraced my femininity. I try to showcase all these through my personal style on here. As you may know, I love the trend of bright and pastel colored pants (as seen here and here), but classic colored pants will never go out of style. I paired these navy blue skinnies with this ruffle striped tank. Have a wonderful start to your week!

Purple Leopard

Sheath dresses are great for work as they are simple yet sophisticated. I like adorning the outfit with other items since it could be plain in itself if only worn alone. Work has been busy and I haven't had a chance to post until now, but this photo set was taken early on in in the week when it was still a bit chilly out. I feel like there has been no transition from spring to summer weather at all, since today is supposed to be over 90 degrees here in the SF bay area! Hence, my last scarf outfit before my scarves are fully tucked away until next Fall =) Have a fabulous weekend and hopefully you also have beautiful weather to enjoy where you are!

Splash of spring colors with denim

Leather & Pink

Sometimes I love pairing a feminine, soft piece with a harder piece, like this pastel pink dress with the leather jacket. I also adore these color block wedges. Hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend!

Umbrella skirt & lace

I'm feeling like the Upper East side...with Gossip Girl fashion that is. This skirt is reminiscent of the show Gossip Girl / Blair Waldorf style to me for some reason. (Anyone else enjoy that show? It's one of my favorites, I love the beautiful fashion in it!) I don't know exactly what it is, but I adore this high-waist umbrella skirt with its subtle iridescent floral pattern when viewed up close. Paired here with a feminine ruffle lace top. Sweetly pink jeans

Pink is my favorite color so of course I had to get a pair of colored jeans in rose pink. Paired with a white lace top makes for a sweet look. The pastel was also perfect for this past Easter weekend. Have a wonderful start of the week!
